The Dutch foreign ministry and SICA (currently Dutch Culture Institute) decided to create a website, showcasing the artistic activities in the Persian Gulf region. The result was Gulf Art Guide (gulfartguide.eu), an online guide for museums, galleries and artist residencies in UAE, Qatar and other neighboring countries. The visual design of the website had to reflect Middle Eastern art and design, while still being easy to use and understand for users across the globe.
